Youtube Is Changing Monetization For Everyone!YouTube Just Monetized Small Channels! (YouTube Monetization 2023)
Title;
- Exciting news about YouTube Monetization
and the YouTube Partner Program.
We now have new lower requirements
for getting into the YouTube partner program
and more creators will have access to Monetization
and that's gonna come with 500 subscribers now
instead of 1000 and 3000 hours of watch time.
You're gonna have access
to five different forms of Monetization with that.
This will make you eligible to receive Super Chats,
Super Stickers, and Super Thanks on your videos
as well as give you access to YouTube channel memberships.
And this will also give you the ability
to utilize YouTube shopping
and sell your own products directly
on YouTube to your audience.
You still would have to meet these requirements
within as far as the watch time,
the 3000 hours of watch time,
you still have to meet that within a 12-month period.
If you want full YouTube Monetization access
to the other YouTube Monetization features
including YouTube ad revenue, you still will have to get
to 1000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time
the 500 that you accumulate
and the 3000 that you accumulate do count
toward that overall total in a 12-month period.
This just gets you access to about roughly half
of the YouTube's Monetization features a little bit sooner.
If you have questions about any of this,
leave them in the comment section
and I will try to answer as many of them as possible.
Now, this also does apply to YouTube shorts creators
and your requirements are changing as well.
Typically, you would have to get 10 million views
within a 90-day period as well
as reach the 1000 subscriber threshold.
However, with these new Monetization requirements,
you'll be able to have the 500 subscribers
and instead 10 million views in 90 days,
it'll be 3 million views.
You also will have to published at least three videos
within the last 90 days.
By meeting these requirements,
you're gonna be eligible for the YouTube Fan Funding tier.
And like I said, that gets you access
to these five flavors of YouTube Monetization.
You still have the opportunity to qualify
for YouTube ad revenue, YouTube premium revenue
and all the other versions of YouTube Monetization later
and you won't have to apply a second time
to the YouTube Partner Program to be eligible
for those types of Monetization.
And just a reminder that by July 10th, you do need
to sign the updated partner agreement if you are
in the YouTube Partner Program or you're applying to it.
I also recommend that before you apply, you have
your YouTube AdSense account set up and link to your channel
before you apply for Monetization.
I think that tends to make the process
a little bit easier on you.
You knew that at google.com/adsense, and that will give you
an AdSense account.
You'll then wanna link that to your YouTube account
in the settings, even though you haven't qualified
for Monetization yet.
I find that that process usually makes
things a little simple.
I've made a complete video
on the YouTube application process to enter
the Partner Program when you become eligible.
This is gonna be helpful for a lot of creators
and if you have questions about it,
remember to leave those in the comment section.
I'm gonna be covering in upcoming videos and live streams
more videos to help you specifically use these types
of Monetization and strategies to be able to gain
more revenue for your channel
since more creators will have access
to this and may not be familiar
with how these Monetization systems work
and how to earn more money from them.

Take care.
YouTube Monetization Update
- [Judah] In November, YouTube is updating monetization.
Monetization on long form videos will be different,
monetization on live streams will also be different,
and how much money you make from your videos,
yeah, that's going to be different too.
What are these changes exactly?
Well, let's talk about long form videos first.
Bundled Ads
So right now, if you go to turn
on monetization on a long form video,
you have control over which ad formats show,
from pre-roll, post-roll, skippable,
and non-skippable ads, but starting November,
YouTube is removing these individual controls.
Instead, when creators choose to turn on monetization,
their viewers may see any of these ad formats
that YouTube deems most appropriate.
Pretty much, you won't be able
to decide which type of ads show.
So if you wanted to avoid non-skippable ads, for example,
you won't have that option anymore,
same with pre-roll, post-roll, and skippable ads,
and I'm sure you're asking why.
Well, to start,
this should make monetizing your videos a lot easier.
No more trying to figure out which ad formats to turn
on or off or where to place them.
Instead, you just toggle it all on
or all off with the click of a button.
How YouTube Chooses Ads
YouTube will handle it all for you
in a very intelligent way.
YouTube will use the information they have on
each viewer to decide which ad format is most appropriate.
This is kinda cool.
So if a specific ad type is likely to push a viewer away,
YouTube won't show it, but if the ad is likely not to bother
that specific viewer, YouTube will show it.
It's all based on internal data that YouTube has
on the ad tolerance level of each individual viewer.
Plus, this should make you more money.
Impact on Revenue
According to YouTube's data,
creators who had non-skippable ads enabled in combination
with other ad formats saw an average
of over 5% greater YouTube ad revenue
at the cost of less than a 1% decrease
in watch time compared to creators who did not.
In that same experiment, creators who
had pre-roll ads enabled in combination
with other ad formats saw an average
of over 15% greater YouTube ad revenue only at the cost
of less than a 5% decrease in watch time compared
to creators who did not.
So this first update means that you no longer need
to decide which ad formats to enable.
YouTube will decide on a viewer-by-viewer basis
and your revenue should increase
while your watch time pretty much stays the same.
Livestream Monetization Update
Now, what about livestreams?
Before we get into that, I have a quick favor to ask you.
Around 68% of our viewers are not subscribed.
My goal is to get that number down to 50%.
If you like our content, please hit the Subscribe button.
It helps more than you know, and the bigger
the channel gets, the bigger the videos get.
Thank you so much. Alright, now, back to the video.
Livestream Ad Options
YouTube is introducing new options for livestream ads.
When this update rolls out, creators will have
the opportunity to select the frequency of mid-roll ads
in intervals of 6, 12, 18, 24 or 30 minutes,
or you can choose to have YouTube display them
when they feel is best, and if you decide
to let YouTube decide for you,
you can fine-tune things by selecting from conservative,
balanced, or aggressive ad frequencies, and while streaming,
you'll see a 60-second countdown before the ad plays
and have the option to skip it or delay it if you wish,
and let's pretend that you're live
and you need to step away for a moment,
maybe to grab a drink or address a technical issue.
You can now use the "Insert Ads" button
to manually insert a mid-roll anytime you want.
Thoughts?
These are big updates.
Overall, I like these changes because they make you
and YouTube more money, but let me know
